Project Objectives

 

Focusing on screening, access, partnership, and framework, the following objectives provide the structure and guidence of the WEAVING Project activities and work plan.

 

SCREENING:

Increase breast and cervical cancer screening services

The WEAVING Project aims to provide technical assistance that will support an increase in the number of urban A/AN women receiving breast and cervical cancer screening by 5% annually in partnering states

 

ACCESS:

Improve access to quality diagnosis and treatment servies

The WEAVING Project aims to increase access and decrease time to diagnosis and treatment services for urban A/AN women, and to support services that are both timely and culturally appropriate

 

PARTNERSHIPS:

Establish and strengthen culturally respectful partnerships

The WEAVING Project aims to support culturally respectful relationships among urban Indian health organizations, state/local departments of health and other appropriate organizations

 

FRAMEWORK:

Provide a framework to support and encourage culturally appropriate collaboration

The WEAVING Project aims to build a framework that can be shared and applied to other collaborative relationships between UIHO and other state health programs
